Limited edition hand printed etchings and woodcuts are available either framed or unframed. For those uninitiated in "print speak", an etching is printed from a copper plate in which the design is incised either physically with a sharp tool or with the help of an acid agent. The plate is then inked in a special way so that the ink remains in the incised drawing but not on the surface of the plate, so that when it is run through an etching press, the drawing is transferred to paper. Woodcuts and wood engravings are made by carving the image into the block of wood. However, the inking process is different in that the ink layer is rolled on the surface rather than into the areas of the board that has been cut away. Woodcuts may either be run through a press or handprinted with a common kitchen spoon. All those that appear on this page were printed by spoon, as alas, I cannot afford an etching/woodcut press. Oh well, maybe someday I will sell enough prints to afford one!

All prints come signed and numbered by the artist. All prints are generally printed on Japanese or Indian papers chosen for their beauty rather than their archival qualities. If one wishes to purchase a print on acid free cotton rag paper, it can be arranged in most cases.
