A beautiful, lightweight felt fabric can be made by felting a fine wool such as merino or cormo to silk organza or silk gauze. This "nuno" technique of feltmaking (a water process), was used to make the scarves shown on this page. The scarves are painstakingly handpainted using Jacquard silk paints . We sell beginning nuno scarf kits minus the silk paints which include directions, 2 oz of base merino, 1 oz assorted decorative fibers (silks, glitzes, etc), a 15" x 72" of silk gauze, tulle, and instructions.
